The Mandates Commission of the League of Nations decided today to proceed Monday with examination of Great Britain’s 1935 report on its League-mandated territory, Palestine.

An official communique by the commission stated it had considered yesterday and today whether to proceed immediately with discussion of all chapters of the report or defer part or all of it to a later date when the mandatory power would be able to furnish more of the background on current issues and the present situation.

It was decided, after consultation with Attorney General H.H. Trusted of Palestine, that “in view of the impossibility of foreseeing at this stage when the desired information would be furnished” not to defer the examination.

It is understood that Mr. Trusted advised the commission that the British Government was not yet in a position to declare whether it would be able to furnish a satisfactory statement on the present events by Autumn and therefore rejected the commission’s proposal that consideration of the report be postponed.

League circles were of the belief tonight that Mr.Trusted had been instructed by his Government to give the commission certain information on the present disorders.
