Knaurs Lexikon, the latest encyclopedia to appear in Germany, has devoted considerable space to the Nazi role in German history and has omitted mention of a number of famous German Jewish literary figures included in pre-Nazi compilations.
Knaurs Lexikon, which assigns 78 lines to Hitler, the most space given any individual in German history, also devotes a number of pages in various sections to the history of the Nazi Party. It publishes the entire 25-point political program proclaimed by Hitler in his rise to power and relates the fate of each of the Nazi leaders in a black-bordered panal.
The encyclopedia which says that the Nazi program “coincided with the national feelings and desires of the German people,” devotes 17 lines to Himmler and 18 lines to Mussolini, while it gives eight lines to the present West German Chancellor, Dr. Konrad Adenauer, and three lines to the current President, Dr. Theodor Heuss.
