The Republic of Latvia was inscribed in the Golden Book of the Jewish National Fund as a token of appreciation for the treatment of the Jewish population of the country.
A certificate of inscription was presented to President Temant by a delegation of Jewish citizens who called on him yesterday. The delegation stated that the certificate is an expression of appreciation to Latvia as the first country which has granted cultural autonomy to the Jewish population.
