Latvia Moves to Suppress Artisan Group

The Latvian Minister of the Interior today ordered the closing of the Latvian Jewish Artisans Federation. The organization was banned in Latvia and its offices were sealed by the authorities.

Latvia’s ban on the artisans group is one of a series of anti-Jewish measures undertaken by the dictatorship which has ruled the country for several months. Jewish newspapers have been suppressed and only the organ of the ultra-orthodox Agudath Israel is permitted to appear.
