Latvia’s president promised to investigate the cases of 41 alleged Latvian war criminals suspected of participating in the murder of thousands of Jews during World War II. The promise by Vaira Vike-Freiberga came in a meeting with the Simon Wiesenthal Center’s Efraim Zuroff in Stockholm, where are both attending an international Holocaust educational conference.
