Lawrence Freiman of Ottawa was elected today president of the Zionist Organization of Canada at the organization’s 34th national convention here.
Dr. Emanuel Neumann, president of the Zionist Organization of America and a guest speaker at today’s session, praised the pro-Israel activities of Lester Pearson, former Minister for External Affairs, and paid tribute to Canada’s friendship for the Jewish State. “I sometimes wish my own government was as consistent towards Israel as was Canada,” the ZOA head declared.
