Lawrence Marx, Jr., has been named campaign chairman for the Federation of Jewish Philanthropies of New York 1956-57 appeal for funds to support 116 affiliated health and welfare agencies, it was announced today by Salim L. Lewis, Federation president.
Mr. Marx, who is 41, becomes one of the youngest campaign leaders in the history of Federation. His father, the late Lawrence Marx, served as campaign chairman in 1936 and as Federation president during 1937-38.
Mr. Marx announced the appointment of eight associate campaign chairmen: Leo Hausman, Howard G. Janover, Martin Jarcho, Arthur D. Leidesdorf, Col. Barnett J. Nova, Gerard Oestreicher, Lawrence S. Phillips and Mrs. Irwin Rosenberg, who also is serving as chairman of the Women’s Division Campaign.
