A number of high Government officials, including representatives from the Ministries of Education and Foreign Affairs, were present today at the laying of a corner-stone for a new Jewish school to be maintained by the Jewish community of Sofia. The building of the school, when completed, will cost about three million Levas.
The Chief Inspector of the Ministry of Education was one of the speakers at the ceremony. In the course of his address he stated that the Ministry of Education is greatly pleased with the excellent record of the Jewish schools which, he said, were turning out loyal and enlightened Bulgarian citizens.
The ceremony was attended by delegations from all Jewish organizations in Sofia.
