Mohammed Abdel Hassouna, secretary-general of the Arab League, met for a half-hour this weekend with Prime Minister John G. Dicfenbaker here. The visit was described as a “courtesy” call, and it was emphasized by a government spokesman that no political subjects were discussed.
Later, Mr. Hassouna held a press conference, in which he repeated the customary Arab League charges about Israel’s alleged “refusal” to abide by United Nations resolutions, declaring the “Arab world objects to the establishment of Israel.” He called for “repatriation” of all Arab refugees to Israel. The Canadian press paid scant attention to Mr. Hassouna’s visit or anti-Israeli declarations.
Colonel Hillel Al-Daag, chief of the Israeli Army’s engineering corps, continued today to visit Canada’s major military installations, as a guest of the Dominion Department of Defense. Colonel Al-Daag arrived here last week at the invitation of the Canadian Army. He is accompanied on his tour by Nol A. Tsur, assistant military attache to the Israel embassies here and in Washington.
