Bert Goldstein, leader of the Pioneer Women, Labor Zionist women’s organization in the United States, today stated here upon her arrival from Israel on the way to New York that, while she attended the World Labor Zionist conference in Israel early this month, she did not say that ‘Extreme Zionism” is not always good for the interests of the Jewish State, as reported in the American press.
“Indeed I am not sure I know what ‘extreme Zionism’ is,” she declared. “Zionism is Zionism to me–and that implies Haluziut and Aliyah. I am and have always been strongly in favor of such a program, which can only help and not harm the Jewish state. Israel needs manpower of aid its development in all fields. I cannot understand Zionism which does not recognize that fact, nor feel the obligation of filling that need.”
