A resolution proclaiming this year’s United Jewish Appeal drive “an all-out emergency effort” and calling for full support by American Jewry of the UJA’s program of building homes and providing other needs for immigrants in Israel, was adopted here today by some 3,000 delegates representing 7,000 Jewish groups affiliated with the Council of Organizations of the UJA of Greater New York.

Congressman Emanuel Geller, one of the principal speakers at the conference, said that the United States must use “the great weight of its diplomacy” to induce Soviet Russia to let East European Jews go to Israel. “The Kremlin’s anti-Semitism is an arrow aimed at the United States, the country it fears most,” Rep. Celler asserted, adding that “the Kremlin hopes to incite the Arabs into a second Holy War against Israel.”
