Leaders of the Argentine United Jewish Appeal are expressing dissatisfaction with the progress of the fund-raising campaign under way for Israel and overseas needs.
Simon Mirelman, president of the campaign, reports that 50 percent of the potential contributors in greater Buenos Aires have not yet made any contribution this year. Gedalia Zakiff, director of the campaign, reveals that so far only 70 percent of the amount raised in 1949 has been received. Jose Lutzky, secretary of the drive, says that Jews in small cities and towns throughout Argentina are contributing much more proportionately than Jews in this city.
