The possibility of holding a meeting of members of the Jewish Agency from the United States, England and Palestine to discuss the present critical political situation is being considered here, it was learned today. If such a conference is held, it would probably meet in London toward the end of August.
A British military court today sentenced a Jewish youth, David Biton, 18, to four years imprisonment for possessing nine revolvers and a small quantity of ammunition when he was arrested in Tel Aviv on June 6. Biton refused to participate in the court proceedings because to do so, he said, would be “against his conscience.” He declared that he was carrying out a duty which every Jewish youth in Palestine was fulfilling.
