Leading roles in the Paul Peters-George Sklar play of the South, “Stevedore,” will be played by Georgette Harvey, Edna Thomas, Jack Carter, and Leigh Whipper. The Theatre Union has postponed the opening date to April 13, at the Civic Repertory Theatre.
The script of the play is now being read by book publishers in the hope that one of them will put the play between covers.
