Oscar Niemeyer, the leading architect in Brazil and one of the most prominent in the world, has settled in Israel, it was learned here today. He is not Jewish.
Mr. Niemeyer, who designed Brazil’s modern capital city of Brasilia, was abroad last April when the Brazilian Government was overturned. Instead of returning to Brazil, Mr. Neimeyer settled in Haifa where he is working as an architect.
