The League Council today adopted a French proposal, supported by Great Britain, extending the competence of the High Commission for Refugees and the Feb. 10 convention on refugees to refugees from the Sudetenland. In reporting the proposal, the Bolivian delegate announced that his country was prepared to contribute to a solution of the refugee problem by admitting a certain number.

Sir Herbert Emerson, League of Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, in an interview today with Dr. Nahum Goldmann, chairman of the administrative committee of the World Jewish Congress, denied that Czecho-slovakia intended to expel 15,000 Austrian and German refugees, but declared that the situation was urgent and asked the cooperation of Jewish organizations. Sir Herbert has just returned from Praha.
