A mass meeting in protest of the anti-Jewish persecutions in Eastern and Central Europe was held last night by the Halle Societes Savants under the auspices of the League for Human Rights.
In his keynote address, Professor Victor Basch, president of the League, described the situation of the Jewish population in east and central European countries and voiced a protest against the persecutions.
M. Netter, speaking on behalf of the Union of Jewish Youth in France, protested against the numerus clausus for Jewish students.
Bernard Lekasch described the pogrom period in the Ukraine, from where he recently returned following an investigation he made there. M. Adamar and M. Hugg, both Catholices, appealed to the Christian conscience to stop the persecutions.
