The International Union of League of Nations Societies at their session held at The Hague noted permanent improvement in the Jewish situation in Roumania, as well as the condemnation by the Roumanian government and public of the Transylvanian outrages, an announcement issued by the Orient Radio, official news agency states.
The announcement emphasizes the conciliatory spirit in which the Roumanian Jewish question was treated at the League of Nations Societies’ Congress.
PROSKAUER MAY BE NOMINEE FOR N. Y. GOVERNOR
The name of Justice Joseph M. Proskauer, of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court is being mentioned as the Democratic candidate in the event that Attorney General Albert Ottinger is named by the Republicans for the New York governorship.
Justice Proskauer has been the chief manager of the Smith Gubernatorial campaigns and was an active worker in the Governor’s pre-convention campaign for the Presidential nomination.
