There are to be no profits from and only poor Jews are to be “accommodated” in the building or buildings to be erected in Palestine from a fund that has been bequeathed to the Jewish National Fund of Palestine by the late Harry Miller of Chicago, according to an announcement made by Emanuel Neumann, president of the Jewish National Fund of America.
Mr. Miller, who died in Chicago on May 11, 1927, and whose estate is administered by Samuel Koenigsberg and Joseph Platt of that city, directs in his will that the residue of his estate after certain formalities have been complied with, is to be turned over to the Jewish National Fund of Palestine, which is to use the money for the erection of a building or buildings in Palestine for the accommodation of poor Jews, who are to be charged a minimum sum.
It is expected the gift will be not less than $15,000, Mr. Neumann said.
