By the terms of the will of the late George Srere, Detroit and Los Angeles paper manufacturer and capitalist, a trust fund was established which for the next thirteen years will give to the Jewish Orphans Home of this city the sum of $500 annually to be used by the directors of the home in aiding orphans in obtaining higher education.
At the end of that time, the sum of $10,000 is to be given in perpetuity to the Orphans Home, the income from which is to be used for the same purpose. Mr. Srere died last March 4, shortly after the Bluma Srere Hospital erected by him on the grounds of the Ex-patients Home in memory of his mother, had been dedicated. jMoses Srere, the father of the deceased, has likewise recently donated the entire equipment for a kosher kitchen for the Jewish Consumptive Sanatorium at Duarte, Calif.
