Lebanese Minister in Washington Attacks U.n.role in Middle East

In nation-wide radio broadcast today Dr. Charles Malik, Minister of Lebanon, attacked “the arrogance and ambition of the Zionists” and accused the United Nations of doing “a very poor job in Palestine.” During the broadcast of CBS Radio’s “The Middle East Story. Dr. Malik said the U.N, had not been “a very constructive force in the Middle East.”

He said he believed that history will record “a great error” and that the U.N.” was not impartial in that situation. “Dr. Malik charged that three objectives which, he said, had been set for Palestine by the U.N, had not been accomplished. These included the internationalization of Jerusalem, the resettlement of the Arab refugees, and the territorial disposition of Jerusalem. Denying that any Arab states will renew warfare against Israel. Dr. Malik said “what they are afraid of is that Israel itself might resume this fighting.”
