Villagers in southern Lebanon have banded together for the first time to demand that their government oust Palestinian terrorists from their region. Reports of masse demonstrations emanated from Beirut, and Amman, Jordan. Amman radio reported last night that about 300 villagers from southern Lebanon drove in a motorcade to the Presidential Palace in Beirut yesterday to demand that President Suleiman Franjieh act to keep the terrorists away from populated areas and that the Lebanese Army tighten its control of “Fatahland,” the region of terrorist strongholds near the Israel border. According to Amman, a delegation of villagers was received by Dr. Butros Deeb, director-general of the President’s office who promised to convey their demands to Franjieh.
