An alleged attempt to blow up Jerusalem’s military court was frustrated today when police discovered a huge bomb hidden in the fork of a ?ee a hundred yards from the building. Thirty persons in the vicinity were rounded ## for questioning.
The bomb consisted of 67 sticks of gelignite, a powerful explosive, and 15 pounds of rivets. It had two electric detonators. The bomb, which was cleverly casuflaged in the tree leaves, was dismantled by army experts.
Unconfirmed reports circulating here today said that three immigrant ships carring about 5,000 visaless Jews are hiding in a Dodecanese port awaiting a favorable opportunity to slip through the British naval blockade. They do not include the two ?tall vessels which Italian police reported had sailed from points near Genoa and ?ri.
Irgun leaflets issued last night on the sixth anniversary of the death of David Raziel, the group’s founder who was killed while on a British mission in Iraq, stated that it had lost 36 of its members in operations during the last ten years of these, six were executed by the British.
It is reported from Nairobi, Kenya, that 26 Jewish prisoners who had been held at a detention camp near there for three months today left by air on the first ?eg of the return journey to Palestine. The Palestine Government had ordered their return.
