The Senate Judiciary Committee’s bill on DP immigration was today attacked by Senator Herbert H. Lehman as a measure which “deepens and crystallizes” the discriminatory provisions of the DP Act of 1948.
Senator Lehman, who made his attack in a speech on the Senate floor, added that the bill perverts and destroys the intention of the House-approved Celler Bill. The voting on the bill is expected to start Wednesday and the Senate has agreed to remain in session until all amendments have been acted on.
