At a dinner at the Hotel Biltmore Thursday evening of the Committee of Twenty-Five of the Business Men’s Council of the Federation for the support of Jewish Philan thropic Societies, Mr. Arthur Lehman, president of Federation, announced only $50,000 remained to be raised to clear the deficit of one million dollars of Federation. This deficit, Mr. Lehman said, had been incurred during the year in maintaining 91 institutions, whose total budget for 1923 was $3,351,773. He reported $700,000 was raised in the last six months.
