Governor Herbert H. Lehman is resting comfortably following an operation for appendicitis performed Saturday morning in Mount Sinai Hospital.
Bulletins issued at the Governor’s home on Park Avenue announced that the patient is doing well and that speedy recovery is expected. Mrs. Lehman was at her husband’s bedside throughout most of the day.
Messages from officials of state and nation arrived at the hospital. Hundreds of telephone calls inquiring as to the Governor’s health were received.
