Sen. Herbert H. Lehman will receive the Anti-Defamation League’s American Democratic Legacy Award for this year, the A.D.L. announced today.
The award, which will be presented at the opening of the A.D.L. ‘s 39th annual meeting in Chicago Oct. 22, was made for the Senator’s work in behalf of civil rights legislation. Previous winners of the A.D.L. citation were President Truman, Mrs. Eleanor Roosevelt, Henry Ford the second, and Charles E. Wilson.
