Funeral services for Solomon Leibowitz, one of the founders and a member of the governing board of the Brooklyn Jewish Center, were held yesterday afternoon at his home, 1355 President street, Brooklyn, where Mr. Leibowitz died Saturday after an illness of three days. He was 65 years old.
Rabbi Herbert Levinthal of the Brooklyn Jewish Center officiated. Burial was at Mount Lebanon Cemetery.
Mr. Leibowitz, a real estate dealer, had helped establish Temple Petach Tikvah on Rochester avenue, Brooklyn, and the Brooklyn Hebrew Home and Hospital for the Aged, as well as the Sanitarium for Incurables on Rutland road, Brooklyn. He belonged to several other philanthropic organizations.
The deceased leaves a widow, Fannie Leibowitz; two daughters, Selma Konen and Ada Breier, and three sons, Harry Roy and Theodore.
