To make room for wounded German troops, the Nazi authorities have confiscated the Jewish Hospital at Leipzig and ejected its Jewish staff and patients, it was learned today from the German newspaper Leipziger Neueste Nachrichten.
“The increased need of hospital beds for wounded German soldiers,” the newspaper reports, “made it necessary to mobilize all hospital facilities. Thus, the city of Leipzig could not forego also the Jewish Hospital.” The report adds that the hospital was taken out of Jewish hands and incorporated into the municipal system. According to the newspaper, all Jewish doctors and nurses were immediately eliminated and the Jewish patients were removed “to another place.”
