The national democratic students who were held in jail since June 3 for participation in the anti-Jewish demonstrations and attacks here were released Saturday pending their trial.
Immediately upon their release, the twenty-eight students, unshaven and carrying their jail rations in their hands, formed a street demonstration. No disturbances occurred.
A group of hooligans organized a wholesale attack on Jewish passersby in the city park in Cracow, telling the victims, “Here is revenge for Lemberg.” The police intervened, restoring order. The hooligans escaped.
It was stated on good authority that the headquarters of the national democratic students’ organization plans a countrywide tour of the released students.
