That the Jews are “destroyers of the character of white women” and that “the Bolshevistic menace is due to a Jew, Nicholai Lenin” were some of the statements of Dr. Godfrey, a Klan speaker in a church here yesterday.
Dr. Godfrey lauded Mayor Kohler for his recent refusal to interfere with Klan meetings as a “true American who refused to be subdued by Jews and rabbis.”
The Klan speaker also urged the church members to boycott Jewish merchants declaring that already the Jews control “the clothing and movie industries” and “have most of the money of America.” If Jews do not restrain from further damaging the character of white women”, he threatened, the Jews will be driven out of the country.”
Although delivered in a church, the speech was couched in expressions of the underworld.
