Former Premier Leon Blum of France today told a press conference here that he is certain that “what is left of the anti-Semitic virus in France will soon be eliminated completely.”

Blum denied a report in the Jewish press that he had conferred privately with members of the British cabinet and received from them an unsatisfactory reply to questions on Palestine.

Asked how public life in France has been affected by anti-Semitism, Blum reported that it was very difficult to answer that question as he returned to France only recently and has been living among friends “who certainly are not affected.” He added that, theoretically speaking, there is no doubt that the anti-Jewish agitation conducted by the Germans during the occupation of France left some traces which, he added, he is convinced will disappear completely in a very short time.
