Leon Gellman, retiring president of the Mizrachi Organization of America, was honored tonight at a farewell banquet tendered by all sections of the Mizrachi movement in this country. Mr. Gellman will leave for Israel this week where he will assume the leadership of the world Mizrachi movement.
A project to be known as “Kiriat Medrashiah,” which will serve as a world education center for the religious, secular and vocational training of youths in Israel, was officially launched at the banquet. The nucleus of the project is already in operation under the auspices of the world Mizrachi movement at Pardess Hanna, near Haifa.
