Leon Ilutovich, of New York, assistant executive director of the Zionist Organization of America, has been appointed executive director, Jacques Torczyner, ZOA president, announced today.
The new executive director has held the post in a provisional capacity for a year. He was named to a second term as ZOA secretary at the organization’s convention last July. Born in Poland, he served as secretary of the Organization of General Zionists there until the German invasion, when he fled to China. He came to the United States after the war, and was named assistant director of the Palestine Bureau and director-editor of the Zionist Information Service.
