Leon Uris, the best-selling author of “Exodus” and other books that dealt with Jewish history, died Saturday in New York at 78. “Exodus,” a 600-page novel, details the Jewish struggle to establish the State of Israel after World War II. The book later was made into a movie by Otto Preminger.
