The Israel Philharmonic Orchestra will give a concert next month on Mount Scopus for the first time since the area was liberated in the war and Leonard Bernstein will conduct with Isaac Stern as soloist.
Jennie Tourel, the soprano, also will perform in the concert with Israeli soprano Netania Davrath. Mount Scopus was an Israeli enclave in Jordan-held Old Jerusalem from 1948, when Jordan seized the area, until June 8, when Israeli troops knocked Jordan out of the third Arab-Israeli war.
