Leopold Bernstamm, famous Russian sculptor and portrait artist, died here today at the age of 80. Born in Riga, Latvia, he studied art in St. Petersburg (Leningrad), where he later became affiliated with the Royal Russian Academy of Beaux Arts. In 1891, he was called to the Royal Russian Court to do the portraits of the Czar’s family. He had lived in Paris since 1886.
