Eighteen Jewish charitable institutions here and abroad will receive bequests amounting to about $50,000 under the will of Leo Lesser, hat manufacturer, who died at Long Beach last month, it was learned yesterday.
In addition, thirty-three relatives, friends and employees were bequeathed a total of more than $160,000. Each of the bequests to institutions is contingent on the establishment of a bed, room or the erection of a tablet in memory of his first wife.
Among the institutions henefiting are: the HIAS, the Federation for the Support of Jewish Philanthropic Societies, the Home for Hebrew Infants, the United Hebrew Charities, the Israel Orphan Asylum, New York Guild for the Jewish Blind and the Keren Hayesod.
