Two members of a Druze spy ring were found guilty today of having mailed letter bombs last year to President Nixon, U.S. Secretary of State William P. Rogers and Defense Secretary Melvin Laird. The lethal letters were discovered in the post office at Kiryat Shemona near the Lebanese border. The accused, who also confessed to charges of espionage and membership in a terrorist organization, are Achmed Salim Hateb, 20, and Majid el Ajani, 19, Sentences will be pronounced tomorrow.
They were arrested at Majdal Shams, a Druze village on the Golan Heights where a Druze spy ring in the service of Syria was uncovered last year. Two other members have confessed to participating in espionage and possession of arms but denied they belonged to a terrorist organization and claimed they had no part in mailing the letter bombs.
