While the German anti-Semitic newspapers continue to quote from Henry Ford’s “International Jew” and add that Ford denied his anti-Semitism merely because business interests dictated it, the Union Against Anti-Semitism is in receipt of a letter from the Ford executive offices in Detroit which denies that.
The letter on Mr. Ford’s behalf says first that the ex-chief of the Russian secret police, Ratchkowski, and his assistant, Manuilov Manassewitsh, never collaborated with Ford, second, that Ford showed courage and the correct attitude toward Jews in saying, “I am mistaken and I retreat,” and third, this repudiation came when Ford’s business had reached its summit, therefore there was no question of business considerations influencing Ford’s condemnation of anti-Semitism.
