Lev-Landau, an artist and Yiddish poet, died yesterday at the age of 83. Born in Warsaw, Poland, his real name was Samuel D. Landau. Lev-Landau was a landscape and figurative artist whose works featuring symbolic overtones were exhibited at shows at some of the major museums in this country; He was a poet and at one time was on the staff of the now defunct New York Yiddish daily, The Day, and also wrote for the Jewish Daily Forward.
