Maurice Levin, president of Hearn’s, and Mrs. Levin have pledged an annual gift of $1,000 during their lifetime to the New York chapter of Hadassah, to be used for the Hadassah health work in Palestine, it was announced yesterday by Mrs. David de Sola Pool, president of the chapter.
In announcing the gift, Mrs. Pool said that Mr. Levin’s interest in Palestine is concerned with many phases of the development in that country.
“Mr. Levin’s broad philanthropic and civic interests are well known in this country,” Mrs. Pool said “Every community in which he has lived has benefited by his understanding and support. His keen interest in the development of Palestine is one of the same high quality.”
Mr. Levin recently pledged an annual donation of $2,500 during his lifetime to the Jewish National Fund, to be used in purchasing land in Palestine.
