Judge William M. Lewis of Philadelphia, Samuel Foley, Bronx County district attorney, and Rabbi Jonah B. Wise, joint chairman of the United Jewish Appeal, were the featured speakers at a dinner inaugurating the Bronx United Jewish Appeal drive at the Chateau de Luxe, 671 Prospect Avenue, Bronx, last night. Max J. Schneider, Bronx chairman of the Appeal, was toastmaster.
Tickets were twenty-five dollars each. Five hundred and fifty persons attended. The borough quota is $50,000.
