The move came after Communist Party legislator Viktor Ilyukhin blamed influential Jews in President Boris Yeltsin’s inner circle for the “genocide” of ethnic Russians since the collapse of communism. Meanwhile, a leading Jewish tycoon, Boris Berezovsky, reiterated his call for a ban on the Communist Party.
