Life expectancy among Israeli Arabs has gone up from 52 years in 1948 to 72 years at present. This is the highest rate for any Arab population in the Middle East, figures recently released by the Central Bureau of Statistics show. It compares with a life expectancy of 52 years in Iraq, 55 in Syria, 54 in Egypt and 64 in Lebanon.
