Sixteen Jews on the Yale University faculty published sixty-four articles last year according to the latest issue of “Bibliography of the Officers of Yale University.” Twelve of the sixteen Jews named in the Bibliography are engaged in research in the field of medicine or allied sciences, two in anthropology, one in law, and one in astronomy.
Among the outstanding articles are “The Dust Hazard in Air-Pressure Abrasive Blasting (Sandblasting),” by Dr. Leonard Greenburg, assistant clinical professor of public health; “The Respiratory Quotient of the Brain,” by Dr. Harold E. Himwich, associate professor of physiology, and Dr. Louis H. Nahum, research assistant in physiology, author of “Chemical Changes in the Heart in Coronary Occlusion.”
Other contributors include Dr. Eugen Kahn, Sterling Professor of psychiatry and mental hygiene; Dr. Louis H. Cohen, research assistant in medicine; Dr. Morris L. Rakieten, Dr. Harry M. Zimmerman, associate professor of pathology; Dr. Herman Yannet, instructor in pediatrics; Dr. Anna J. Eisenman, instructor in medicine; Dr. Yale David Koskoff, instructor in physiology; Dr. Arthur M. Yudkin, associate clinical professor of ophthalmology; Dr. Lafayette B. Mendel, Sterling Professor of physiological chemistry; Dr. Edward Sapir, Sterling Professor of anthropology and linguistics, and Dr. George Herzog, research associate in anthropology.
