A week of celebration is marking the formal reopening of the Y. M. and Y. W. H. A. here.
An exhibition of boxing and wrestling matches scheduled for tonight will attract a large number of visitors. Tomorrow night will be devoted to a meeting of the board of governors, and on Wednesday there will be a musicale. Harry G. Glazer heads the athletic committee. Bertha Gold is chairman of the cultural committee.
J. Louis Simon, president of the governing board will speak.
Following the addresses, the revue will be presented with Emil Cohen as master of ceremonies. Dancing will follow. The program for the revue will be:
Skit, “His Best Seller,” Lillian White, Leonore Himber and Cecilia Lamb; tap dance, Charles Lewis, accompanied at the piano by Sara Sherby; vocal solo, Mildred Klein, accompanied by Miss Sherby; saxophone duet. Stanley Binder and Willis Jacoby, accompanied at the piano by Irving Yalisove; musical sketch, “The Customer’s Shop,” Edith First, Sara P. Caney, Grace First, Ann Kahn, Pearl Platensky, Sara Sherby and Sara Goldstein; pantomime sketch, “The Fairy Story of Cinderella Revised,” Joseph First, Irving Finkle, Charles Lewis and Henry Winston; skit, “Moonshine,” Harry Stutman and Norman Rose: sketch, “Will O’ the Wisp.” Marjorie Breuer, Sara Sherby and Sara Goldstein, with Mildred Cooper, piano accompanist.
This entire program will be under the direction of Sara Goldstein, assisted by Pearl Platensky. Other sub-committee chairmen are Isabelle Hochstein, tickets; Bessie Sklut, refreshments; Aaron Knopf, decorations, assisted by Morris Blatman.
