Hop of ”conquering the Bronx or Zionism”, expecssed a year ago by Mayer Goldberg at an organizaton meeting of the Brox Zionisht Regisn, is on the the Bronx Zionist Region, is on the threshold of realization, it is felt by Mr. Goldberg exccutive director of the Region, who yesterdayb outhined tghe achievements of the boday during the past wear and its aims for the inmmediate inture.
The Bronx Region, wth new quarters at 203 Est Fordham Road, as made marked progress toward accomphishing its aim to unite the various Zionisht bodies that have sprung up in the Bronx. It is only such unity, Mr. Golddberg consends, that the several hundred chousand Jews in the brough can visualisze the vital need for a Jewish Homland in Palesine.

Attendant upon the establishment of the Region, which is an offical adjunct of the Zionisht Organization of America, was the organization of the group’s militant bi-weekly periodical. The Bronx Zionist. Under Oavid S. Maltin, editor, the newspaper has asserted itself firmly and foreefully on many Zionish issues of moment.
An emgergency conference will be held at the Bronx Winter Garden on January 30. Other events on the voster include the second Hebrew vally at Burnside Manor on February 7 and the recommendation of Saturday in the Bronx.
STARTED LAST JUNE
June 1933 saw the initial organization meeting of the B.Z.R., Mr. Goldberg recalls. A few people convened in a dingy loft at 563 East Tremont Aenue. But it was the Hawn of a new day for Mr. Goldberg, who had spent many fruitless years trying to interest people in a Bronx Zionist region. Among the first to give him a sincere hearing was Arnold K. Israeli, now president of the Bronx Zionist Region. As a European Zionist, Mr. Goldberg said, he immediately grasped the necessity for concentrated efforts in the field of Zionism.
