The twenty-ninth annual convention of the Order Brith Sholom, with national headquarters in this city, will take place at Atlantic City Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. Convention headquarters will be at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel.
The opening session will take place in the ball room of Convention Hall, where 5,000 men and women—members of the Order and their friends—are expected to attend. A number of outstanding features are being planned to make this convention a milestone in the history of the Order.
Rabbi Stephen S. Wise has accepted the invitation extended to him by Judge William M. Lewis, Grand Master of the Order, to be guest of the convention and deliver the keynote address at the opening session. A feature of the convention will be the message of Judge Lewis, who will review the status of world Jewry today, with special emphasis on the tragic events in Germany and their implications for world Jewry and more particularly for American Israel.
Another feature will be the revival of the marching club. In previous years this evoked a great deal of interest among the younger men. An effort is now being made to revive this club. Already several hundred have joined its ranks. It is expected that by the seventeenth several thousand young men—members of the Order—will take part in the march of Brith Sholomites from the station in Atlantic City to Convention Hall.
