These same sources noted that in Middle East matters the U.S. generally follows United Nations Secretary General Dag Hammarskjold’s lead and that the fact that UN personnel’s families were permitted to return last week should influence the U. S. attitude. Meanwhile, the families of Yugoslav diplomats here have returned and families of other Eastern European diplomats are expected back in the near future.
